Historic Philadelphia. We’ll walk you through it.
Historic Philadelphia isn’t just a place. It’s an organization – dedicated to enhancing the visitor experience and helping to strengthen Philadelphia’s tourism industry through interpretation and interaction, making our nation’s history relevant and real. Historic Philadelphia Inc. maintains the following organizations:

ONCE UPON A NATION. Most visible through the branded Storytelling Benches located throughout the Historic Philadelphia area (and in Valley Forge Park), Once Upon A Nation also offers visitors a chance to interact with historical players. 18th- & 19th-century History Makers play games on Harmony Lane, give speeches, and guide visitors on special trips around the area.

THE BETSY ROSS HOUSE. One of Philadelphia’s most popular historic attractions (only Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell, both run by the National Park Service outdraw it), The Betsy Ross House is the former home of the famed Quaker flagmaker, located at 239 Arch Street.

FRANKLIN SQUARE. One of Philadelphia’s five original squares, Franklin Square is a magnet for kids in the Historic Philadelphia area. Attractions include Philadelphia-themed Mini Golf and the Philadelphia Park Liberty Carousel. Popular with residents and tourists alike, Franklin Square maintains an active calendar of special events, particularly during warm-weather months.
